Summer Staffers!! Happy New Year!!
We hope you had a great Christmas break as you took a step back from school to spend well-deserved time with family and friends. Since it’s now 2023, we can officially say that camp is THIS YEAR! Whether or not camp is on your mind, we are always dreaming of the summer and thinking of YOU, our remarkable Summer Staff!

DIRECTOR’S WEEKEND: JANUARY 6-8
Each team at Connect Camps will be led by a Camp Director who will begin training this month. Keep these five Camp Directors in your prayers as they learn the ins + outs of their job and as the Lord prepares them to lead in a tremendous way this summer.

CONNECT GATHERING: JANUARY 22-24
At the end of this month, all 40 of our church hosts will gather in Pine Mountain, GA as they begin to prepare for Connect Camps in their community. They will learn marketing strategies, fundraising, and even how to care for YOU, our Summer Staff! SUMMER STAFF NEWS:
PAPERWORK: Each summer staffer is required to sign their contract, complete medical forms, complete the Staff Information Form, obtain an up-to-date Ministry Safe certification (these are valid for 2 years after initial completion). See checklists below to ensure that you are up to date on all paperwork!
MENTAL WELLNESS
As you heard in our January Newsletter Video, Connect Camps cares deeply for you, our Summer Staff, throughout the whole summer. We call this the “Staff Wellness Plan,” as we care for the 4 pillars of your wellness:
1. Mental Wellness
2. Spiritual Wellness
3. Physical Wellness
4. Social Wellness
ADOPT-A-SUMMER-STAFFER: One large way that we care for your Mental Wellness is through the “Adopt-A-Summer-Staffer” program. In this program, we encourage you to provide the name of a personal mentor in your life. The Connect Camps Staff Team will then prepare your mentor to walk alongside you this summer. They will be responsible for checking in with you, writing you letters, and encouraging you throughout the summer. If you know someone in your life that would be great at this, please let us know this on the Staff Information Form. If you do not have a personal mentor, we will pair you with a member of the Connect Camps family!
SUMMER STAFF BRAG BOARD: Do you know a Summer Staffer that is doing incredible things this semester? Brag on them on our Summer Staff Brag Board! We want to celebrate alongside you, and you may even see them in the next Summer Staff Newsletter!
